A normal deduction of this problem will have higher level of glucose in the blood but it is not enough to treat or diagnosis the problem. It is vital to monitor the blood glucose regularly to prevent diabetes. Here are some of the following tips which are highly effective in preventing the problem.

  • Obesity is a threat and can be a major contributing factor. It is highly recommended to reduce the body weight and fat must be maintained on its average count. The Body Mass Index (BMI) should be followed regularly.
  • Increased physical activities will reduce the chances of having diabetes. People with affluent lifestyle are more affected and a brisk walking of 30 minutes per day will help in fighting this problem.
  • Alcoholic consumption must be less and having more than 2 units per day will cause serious problems.
  • Cigarette smoking is injurious to health. One could reduce the chances of getting diabetes by quitting smoking and alcohol consumption.
  • Food items that are rich in fats must not be consumed on a regular basis.
  • It is advised to consume fish and other poultry items.
  • The intake of garlic reduces blood pressure cholesterol hence it is healthy to be taken.
  • 3 to 4 eggs per week are adequate and it should be boiled.
  • Vegetables and fiber rich food items should be consumed on a massive scale and the intake of salt must be reduced to less than 5.8grams everyday.
  • A regular check on fasting blood glucose will help in monitoring the health conditions.

People have to understand that prevention is better than cure. Proper awareness regarding diabetes has to be developed. Every single individual must adapt to a healthy lifestyle which is the only way to reduce the probability of getting affected.
