Improper nutrition does contribute to the development of diabetes, but proper nutrition can be a powerful treatment for this disease. (1) This disease is so closely related to diet and nutrition; scientists have studied how nutritional supplements can effectively treat diabetes. In researching vitamin supplements, researchers have found that many vitamins and herbs can effectively help lower blood sugar. Some of these supplements are vitamin C, B vitamins, minerals like chromium and vanadyl sulfate, and herbs like Gymnema Sylvestre can all help lower blood sugar. If one combines these supplements together, they can synergistically work together to lower blood sugar. First let’s look at what diabetes is and then we can discuss how these supplements work.

The foods we eat are digested and broken down into simpler forms; most carbohydrates are broken down into sugar also known as glucose. These sugars are absorbed through the intestinal tract into the bloodstream where it is circulated through out the body to feed cells.

Insulin is a hormone released by the pancreas. The pancreas is a long skinny organ that sits behind the stomach adding enzymes into the digested food. Insulin helps deliver nutrients and sugar from the bloodstream into cells where it is needed. The sugar supplies energy to various organs such as the heart and lungs; for example the heart beats and lungs breathe which keep us alive as a result of sugar’s energy supply. (2,3)

There are two classes of diabetes type I and type II. Type I diabetes is sometimes called insulin dependent, juvenile or child onset diabetes. This type usually starts at a very early age and the pancreas stops producing insulin. When the body does not make insulin, the sugar stays in the bloodstream instead of going into the cells where it’s needed. This can be fatal, so a person with type I diabetes needs a shot of insulin every day for his/her body to function properly (to stay alive).

Type II diabetes usually starts in adults and is the most common kind of diabetes in America. Most people who have diabetes have type II, that’s about 90% -95% of all diabetics in America. In this type of diabetes, the pancreas is producing enough insulin but the body doesn’t use the insulin effectively. This is called insulin resistance, cells in the body do not respond to the insulin and so the pancreas produces more and more insulin to over compensate this resistance. When blood sugar starts to raise in the bloodstream in this manner, the medical doctor (MD) will diagnose type II diabetes. Most type II diabetics need a prescription drug to lower the blood sugar because a diet change isn’t enough to control their blood sugar problem. (4)

In both cases, the blood sugar is too high in the bloodstream and will cause several problems. The first problem is cells cannot absorb sugar for energy; they starve and start to die. Secondly an excess amount of sugar in the blood leads to cardiovascular disease, hardening of the arteries, nerve and eye damage, and kidney damage.

Scientists are not exactly sure what causes type I diabetes, but they do know it has something to do with the immune system. A healthy immune system protects us from the common cold and cancer cells (cells in the body that go bad). The immune system can becomes confused and starts attacking good cells, in some cases, the healthy cells in the pancreas that produce insulin, which causes diabetes. (4)

Type II diabetes has been linked to individuals who are overweight. These overweight individuals have high blood pressure and high cholesterol as well which may also lead to this form of diabetes. Being overweight causes the body to become insulin resistant and by dropping some excess weight one could possibly reverse type II diabetes (rare).

If you think you have diabetes, you should look for the following symptoms. Type I diabetics usually have frequent urination because of the high blood sugar; the kidneys are trying to balance the body’s bloodstream. The kidneys are forced to eliminate all the unused nutrients and sugar in the blood over working the kidneys and if left unchecked can lead to kidney damage. If you experience intense thirst, your body is trying to replace the liquids lost from frequent urination. You may experience increased hunger but you will not gain weight when you do eat more. This is because your body’s cells need more nutrients, but since these cells can not absorb the insulin and nutrients the body starves.

With type II diabetes you might not notice any symptoms. Type II diabetes usually happens very gradually and the person doesn’t know about it till diabetic complications occur, then it’s too late. (3,4)

All diabetic complications are caused from high blood sugar. The longer the blood sugar goes unchecked the greater your chances of having complications. High blood sugar causes cardiovascular disease. The blood vessels begin to thicken from excess fat in the bloodstream because high blood sugar elevates the fat circulating in the blood. When the vessels thicken circulation becomes poor and with poor circulation your ability to heal is impaired. Heart attack, heart pain, and stroke are common in diabetics because of poor circulation and blocked arteries form all the fat buildup in the blood vessels.

Nerve damage is another complication of diabetes. Diabetics may notice numbness in their arms and legs because of nerve damage caused from high blood sugar. These nerves can not send signals to the brain relaying pain and touching sensations. Most diabetics will notice numbness in the feet and lower legs before other parts of the body are effected. (3,4)

The next complication is eye damage. A more sever complication because going blind is not pleasant for anyone. The eye has very small delicate vessels in the retina, these vessels help you see when light shines upon them in the eye. When blood vessels are weakened, they can hemorrhage and leak fluid into the eye. This causes swelling and blurs the vision. There is a clear gel in the eye keeping it solid and round, if blood leaks into this gel, your vision can become blurred or completely impaired. As the eye continues to get damaged, the eye will attempt to repair itself by growing new vessels. These new vessels are fragile and can burst. Scar tissue can form and cause the retina to pull away from the eye, worst case causing blindness. (3,4)

Blood vessels network throughout the entire body. Your kidneys are made up of vessels and can become damaged as well. If the vessels in the kidneys become impaired, waste cannot be eliminated from the body and a form of treatment called dialysis might be required. If blood sugar is not kept under control, damage to the kidneys will continue to the point where a transplant might be needed or daily dialysis is required to remove waste from the bloodstream. The good news is practically all of the complications that occur with diabetes can be prevented when the right care is taken.

With proper diet and nutrition one can successfully prevent diabetic complications. Along with diet and nutrition, vitamins, minerals and herbs can also help lower blood sugar and reduce the complications that may occur. The best kind of supplement is one that combines vitamins and herbs together so that they work together synergistically to effectively lower blood sugar. You might be wondering what vitamins, minerals and herbs are good for blood sugar, your in luck here is a list:

Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin B-6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B-12, Biotin, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Chromium, Gymnema Sylvestre, Bitter melon, Fenugreek seed extract, Bilberry berry extract, Bioflavonoids, and Vanadyl Sulfate. Make sure most of these ingredients are in the formula you buy. The frequency at which you take these supplements should be listed on the bottle you buy as well. As a rule of thumb they should be taken at least twice a day. Do not stop taking your normal multiple vitamin supplement; diabetic formulas are a complement to what you currently take not a replacement.

Vitamin C (ascorbic Acid) ? keeps diabetics blood vessels and kidneys healthy. Vitamin C works with vitamin E to get sugar out of the blood stream and into the cells.

Vitamin E (Natural Tocopherols) ? helps prevent nerve damage, helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, and heart attack. Vitamin E works with the B vitamins to help keep the pancreas healthy.

Vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine HCL) ? works with folic acid to help prevent nerve damage and heart attack.

Folic Acid ? works with B-12 to help prevent stroke and the loss of limbs due to diabetic complications.

Vitamin B-12 (cyanocobalamin) ? works with B-6 and folic acid to help relieve neuropathic pain.

Biotin ? helps insulin work better and helps keep the pancreas working well to lower blood sugar.

Magnesium (Krebs Cycle Chelate) ? helps insulin work more effectively and relieves neuropathic pain.

Zinc (picolinate, chelate) ? helps insulin work better and helps shuttle blood sugar into cells.

Selenium (aspartate) ? helps prevent nerve damage and protects blood vessels against elevated blood sugar. Selenium mimics insulin helping blood sugar into the cells.

Copper (picolinate) ? helps protect the cells that produce insulin in the pancreas. Also, copper helps prevent diabetes-related damage to blood vessels and nerves, and lowers blood sugar levels.

Manganese ? helps prevent damage to nerves and blood vessels.

Chromium (picolinate) ? works with biotin to help bring down blood sugar and keeps the pancreas working well.

Gymnema Sylvestre leaf extract ? helps balance blood sugar and may protect us from gaining weight.

Bitter melon whole fruit extract ? helps pathways in the liver work more efficiently; lowers blood sugar levels.

Fenugreek seed extract ? helps our kidneys and liver metabolize blood sugar more efficiently.

Bilberry berry extract ? helps reduce the severity of diabetic cataracts.

Mixed bioflavonoids ? helps protect vitamin C and E from becoming damaged. Helps clear and sharpen vision in diabetics.

Vanadyl sulfate ? helps muscle and liver cells use insulin more effectively.

These supplements will not lower your blood sugar too much, but help bring them down to a more normal level. Diabetes is a disease that needs to be monitored daily several times throughout the day. When you start taking a diabetic supplement to help equalize your blood sugar, monitor your sugar levels more often at first so you can get a feel for where you sugar levels come down to before taking more insulin. A normal range of blood sugar for diabetics before a meal is 70 ? 150 (1,2,5) and ideally 70 ? 120.

The diabetic formula you may take for lowering blood sugar is by no means a license to eat any way you want. You still need to eat healthy and see your health practitioner on a regular basis. Diabetes might make you feel overwhelmed, especially if you have recently been diagnosed with it. With proper exercise, diet, and vitamin supplements you can be well on your way to a lower more manageable blood sugar level, and live a longer healthier life.

Here is yet another case of a home remedy waiting to be discovered. In 2005 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a drug for the treatment of Type II Diabetes. The drug is called Byetta (exenatide). There’s nothing amazing about that part. New drugs are created often.

The almost unbelievable part is where the drug originated. It wasn’t produced in a lab. Instead, the active ingredient of Byetta comes from the venomous saliva of the Gila Monster lizard.

The Gila Monster, once thought to be one of only two venomous lizards, lives in the deserts of the southwestern U.S. and northwestern Mexico. The Gila Monster is a thick-bodied, heavy and slow-moving lizard. It grows to a maximum length of 2 feet (0.6 m) and preys on small rodents, fledgling birds, and eggs. It tends to eat animals on the ground that cannot move fast (or at all). The quick, strong bite of the Gila Monster delivers venomous saliva that is normally not fatal to humans.

Instead, there is a component of the lizard’s venom that is extremely helpful to certain humans. A component in the Gila Monster’s venom has proven remarkably effective in the control of Type II Diabetes in humans. The Gila Monster is a protected species in the U.S. Fortunately, the exenatide drug can now be synthesized in the lab instead of from live animals.

Diabetes is a chronic medical disorder generally characterized by high blood sugar (glucose) levels, especially after eating. The diabetic patient must consistently monitor blood sugar levels to keep them within a safe range.

When high blood sugar occurs, insulin is used to bring it down to a safer level. If low blood sugar occurs, the patient generally consumes carbohydrates to raise the glucose level to a safe level. Type II Diabetes is a chronic disorder characterized by resistance to insulin, a deficiency in insulin, and hyperglycemia (high blood sugar or excess glucose).

Exenatide helps with glucose (blood sugar) management in several ways:

1. It signals the pancreas to create additional insulin when glucose levels are too high;

2. It regulates the liver so that it doesn’t produce unneeded glucose; and

3. It helps slow the rate at which sugar enters the bloodstream.

Studies showed that another significant effect of exenatide use was weight loss. Overweight diabetes patients can have more difficulty controlling blood sugar levels. The effectiveness of exenatide for diabetic blood glucose control stems from its ability to activate several glucose control pathways simultaneously.

Byetta (exenatide) is a wonderful drug, although its discovery sounds like some kind of horror story. One can only imagine gruesome (but fictitious) clinical trials where unsuspecting diabetics are asked to stick their arms into dark boxes containing Gila Monsters. This discovery sounds like one of those “good news/bad news” jokes. For example, the doctor says, “The bad news is that the lizard probably won’t release its bite on your leg for another week. The good news is that your diabetes has improved!”

Traditional Indian medicine, herb Salacia oblonga may help treat
diabetes Posted By: News-Medical in Medical Study News
Friend : : : : Herbs used in traditional Indian medicine to
treat diabetes seems to lower blood sugar and insulin levels in
a manner similar to prescription drugs, a new study reports.
Researchers gave extracts of the herb Salacia oblonga to 39
healthy adults, and the results were promising. The largest dose
of the herb extract – 1,000 milligrams – decreased insulin and
blood glucose levels by 29 and 23 percent, respectively. : :
“These kinds of reductions are similar to what we might see with
prescription oral medications for people with diabetes,” said
Steve Hertzler, a study co-author and an assistant professor of
nutrition at Ohio State University. : : Salacia oblonga, which
is native to regions of India and Sri Lanka, binds to intestinal
enzymes that break down carbohydrates in the body. These
enzymes, called alpha-glucosidases, turn carbohydrates into
glucose, the sugar that circulates throughout the body. If the
enzyme binds to the herbal extract rather than to a
carbohydrate, then less glucose gets into the blood stream,
resulting in lowered blood glucose and insulin levels. : :
“Lowering blood glucose levels lowers the risk of
disease-related complications in people with diabetes,” Hertzler
said. “Also, poor compliance with diabetes medications often
hinders the effectiveness of these drugs. It may be easier to
get someone to take an herb with food or in a beverage, as
opposed to a pill.” : : The study appears in a recent issue of
the Journal of the American Dietetic Association. : :
Thirty-nine healthy adults participated in four separate meal
tolerance tests. These meals, which were given in beverage form,
were spaced three to 14 days apart. Each participant fasted for
at least 10 hours before consuming the test beverage. : :
Participants were asked to drink about two cups’ worth of the
chilled beverage, which contained zero, 500, 700 or 1,000
milligrams of Salacia oblonga extract. Afterward, the
researchers used the finger-prick method to draw blood samples
from each person every 15 to 30 minutes for three hours. These
blood samples were used to determine insulin and blood glucose
concentrations. The biggest changes in blood glucose and insulin
levels usually happen within the first two hours after eating. :
: The beverage that contained the highest concentration of the
herbal extract – 1,000 milligrams – provided the most dramatic
reduction in insulin and blood glucose levels. Insulin levels
were 29 percent lower, while blood glucose levels were 23
percent lower as compared to the control drink, which contained
no herbal extract. : : As Salacia oblonga can cause intestinal
gas, the researchers had the study participants collect breath
hydrogen samples hourly for eight hours after drinking the test
beverage. The participants collected their breath in small
plastic tubes. The researchers then analyzed these breath
samples for hydrogen and methane content – the level of either
substance in the breath corresponds to the level contained in
the colon. : : The subjects also rated the frequency and
intensity of nausea, abdominal cramping and distention and gas
for two days after consuming each test meal. : : While the test
beverages containing Salacia oblonga caused an increase in
breath hydrogen excretion, reports of gastrointestinal
discomfort were minimal, Hertzler said. : : Right now he and his
colleagues are trying to figure out what dose of the herb is
most effective, and when it should be taken relative to a meal.
: : “We want to know how long it takes for the herb to bind to
the enzymes that break down carbohydrates,” Hertzler said. “The
participants in this study took the herb with their meal, but
maybe taking it before eating would be even more effective.” : :
The researchers also want to study the effects of Salacia
oblonga in people with diabetes. : : “A lot of studies show that
lowering blood sugar levels reduces the risk for all kinds of
diabetes-related complications, such as kidney disease and nerve
and eye damage,” Hertzler said. “We want to see if this herb has
this kind of effect.” : : Salacia oblonga is still relatively
difficult to find in the United States, Hertzler said, although
there are manufacturers that sell the herb through the Internet.
: : This study was supported by the Ross Products Division of
Abbott Laboratories in Columbus. : : Hertzler is continuing to
conduct Salacia oblonga studies with the Ross Products Division
of Abbott Laboratories. He has no links to the company beyond
this affiliation. : : Hertzler conducted the work with former
Ohio State colleague Patricia Heacock, who is now at Rutgers,
the State University of New Jersey; Jennifer Williams, a
clinical scientist with Ross Products Division, Abbott
Laboratories; and Bryan Wolf, a former research scientists with
Ross Products Division

BUT ALL CAN BE PREVENTABLE.

(Continued from Part 1) Although these startling numbers represent undeniable facts and a reflection of the real suffering the majority of diabetics go through BUT THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE YOUR FATE.

YES YOU CAN PREVENT ALL THESE DEADLY COMPLICATIONS!!!

Now I got you thinking!! ? Wait a minute! Are you saying that as a diabetic I have a say in avoiding all of these horrible outcomes??

THIS IS A BIG ABSOLUTELY YES!!! AND WE (health professionals) HAVE THE EVIDENCE TO PROVE IT.

If it weren’t the case then you would not be receiving this report and I would not have spent the last 21 years during my pharmacy practice successfully counseling patients on how to do so and would not have spent the last 4 years of my life writing ?Lifestyle Makeover for Diabetics? which gives ALL diabetics (newly diagnosed or not) ALL the tools they need to manage ALL aspects of diabetes control, prevent its complications, enjoy and expect a natural lifespan and best quality of life, ALL in a single volume.

If diabetes and its deadly complications were not manageable and preventable then the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org), the World Health Organization (www.who.int) and all other governmental health agencies would not be making every effort and take every opportunity with whatever means at their disposal to send the message out that diabetes is manageable and preventable.

The next question that could cross your mind would be: ?If diabetes and complications are manageable and preventable then why are these devastating statistics so high, why the numbers keep on climbing and what is fueling all this??

Answer: The main culprits fueling this ever growing epidemic and making it worse is none other than EXCESS WEIGHT, INACTIVITY and SMOKING.

Yes, people own daily choices, misinformed actions or inactions are the main contributors to this terrible outcome. What people bring home from food stores, what snacks they choose at home or work, how much activity they do during each day or the total lack of it are highly contributing factors. Whether people make any uninformed personal decisions about their medications, whether they appropriately monitor or don’t monitor their vital and crucially important parameters which could lead to blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure levels rising unnoticed and unleashing a fury of deadly complications.

Whether diabetics lead highly stressful lives and not do anything about it combined to whether they are smokers and continue to smoke, whether they take no actions or misinformed actions or buy into the ?Diet? myth as solutions to their excessive weight, whether they buy into myths that diabetics have to be deprived of sweets for the rest of their lives (as a consequence most lash out and they start overeating sweets and everything else) and whether they act like their health is solely the responsibility of their doctor, ARE ALL PREVENTABLE FATAL FACTORS that each and every diabetic CAN AND MUST change to their favor.

During my 20 years in pharmacy practice, I passionately cared, counseled and helped people who are diabetics, have other chronic conditions such as high cholesterol and blood pressure, heart disease and those who are smokers, obese and have excess weight and leading a sedentary lifestyle.

Out of all these conditions, diabetics have to worry about many more issues and act on them all at the same time before they can bring diabetes complications to a halt. Not only that but the vast majority of diabetics suffer from any or all of the chronic diseases (mentioned in the previous paragraph) and to add fuel to the fire the overwhelming majority make unfavorable lifestyle choices, which to no one’s surprise worsens diabetes control. These are all complex and numerous issues for any layperson to deal with.

The end result brings the sad reality that out of every 10 diabetics ONLY 1 or 2 diabetics have their condition under control. The rest suffer deadly complications, succumb to diabetes and become part of the heart breaking statistics mentioned previously. These were sad findings that I witnessed every day during my pharmacy practice and are confirmed by reliable statistics.

I am no bearer of bad news or using scare tactics. I am not here to deliver glooming and bad news either and this is no scare tactic. I am just delivering reality, facts and a lot of hope.

Hope? You might ask! How can there be hope after all this bad news? Yes, I am here to tell you that YOU can control diabetes and bring it under control and prevent ALL of its deadly complications.

(To be continued in Part 3)

Diabetes is caused due to the alteration occurred in the metabolic activities. Insulin is not produced in the right quantity which helps in controlling the rate at which sugar, starch and other food particles are converted into glucose. Almost all the food particles are broken down to glucose which fuels all the body actions. This hormone is produced by Pancreas and is released into the blood. Insulin helps in maintaining the blood glucose level within the normal range. Glucose must be passed onto the cells from blood and insulin is highly responsible for this job. For people affected with diabetes, pancreas produces little or no insulin or the cells do not respond appropriately to the activities of insulin.

TYPES OF DIABETES

The 3 main types of diabetes are

Type 1 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes

Gestational diabetes

A person is affected with Type 1 Diabetes that is an autoimmune disease which will result in having no resistance against infection and other germs. The immune system affects the beta cells in pancreas which are responsible for insulin production and destroys. They are advised to take insulin in the form of injection everyday.

Most people are affected with Type 2 Diabetes and a recent statistics reveal that around 90 to 95% of them suffer from Type 2 disease. It leads to obesity and purely it is genetic. The body does not make proper use of the insulin produced in the pancreas. Insulin production is stopped after some years resulting to Type 1 diabetes.

Some pregnant ladies develop Gestational diabetes and the records prove that woman suffering from this will develop Type 2 diabetes within 5 to 10 years. Women with a family history of diabetes are prone to this attack.

Part 3

(Continued from Part 2) I am no bearer of bad news or using scare tactics.

For 20 years I have successfully coached patients with diabetes and other chronic diseases, provided them with simplified but powerful information and helped them get the results most were not aware they needed to achieve. Most made common mistakes and as consequences paid the ultimate price.

I want to help you avoid making those same mistakes and reap priceless health benefits, diabetes control, and ultimate quality of life.

Here are the five common deadly mistakes almost all diabetics make and how you can avoid them:

1) Not getting diagnosed on time or when diagnosed they become in denial and do nothing:

Currently there are 57 million pre-diabetics and about 7 million who have full-blown diabetes but have not yet been identified or avoid doing so. Most diabetics have been diagnosed after having diabetes for several years when extensive damage to their precious internal organs has already occurred. Denial of having diabetes and ? My kind of diabetes does not require treatment?? kind of attitude, not knowing to get screened soon enough or avoid being screened or identified as a diabetic are common contributing factors to premature death.

Solution: If you are overweight, have a family history of diabetes, lead a sedentary lifestyle, have frequent bouts of thirst and the frequent need to urinate or suddenly losing weight without any effort of your own contact a doctor and get screened immediately. The sooner you get diagnosed the more manageable your condition becomes and the less danger you expose your precious internal organs to.

2) Not knowing the symptoms of hypoglycemia and not being informed about the proper solutions:

Hypoglycemia or dangerously low blood sugar levels is a very potential side effect of most of diabetes medications and if not reversed can be fatal in a very short period of time from minutes to hours. What I witnessed during pharmacy practice is that a good majority of diabetics either are not familiar with the signs of hypoglycemia or do not know the most effective and easiest solution for it.

Solution: The critical signs of hypoglycemia are nausea, dizziness, sweating and ill feeling. At the first signs of any of the mentioned symptoms the most efficient and fastest solution for this potential problem are dissolving 3 to 4 Glucose tablets back to back and within seconds hypoglycemia will be reversed. Glucose tablets are very cheap and they can be found at any pharmacy in the diabetes section and every diabetic must carry them at all times.

3) Not knowing where their current levels of blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol are and where safety is:

Almost all diabetics have elevated cholesterol and blood pressure levels which currently are responsible for over 75% of all death related to diabetes. It all can be avoided if diabetics claim their health and not deeded it off to their doctor.

Solutions: Every diabetic must be involved in his or her own health and MUST KNOW their numbers in order to get to safer shores. Diabetics can and have to know their numbers by monitoring.

Here are the magic numbers: Fasting blood sugar Must be below 110 and above 70, 2 hours after a meal your sugar must be below 145. Your blood pressure must be below 130/80. Your total cholesterol must be below 135 (Yes below 135), your LDL (Bad) cholesterol must be below 100, your HDL (good) cholesterol must be above 45 and your Triglyceride below 150.

YOU CANNOT GET TO SAFETY IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE SAFETY IS. Those are the numbers every diabetic must aim for if they want to avoid horrible consequences, have peace of mind and enjoy the ultimate quality of life. You can achieve those goals by medications and lifestyle changes. Let your doctor know if your numbers are consistently higher those recommended ones so your doctor can take action and help you.

Diabetes is a serious concern and majority of the people seem to be attacked. There is no permanent cure for this but can be delayed and prevented from this lifelong problem. A normal deduction of this problem will have higher level of glucose in the blood but it is not enough to treat or diagnosis the problem. It is vital to monitor the blood glucose regularly to prevent diabetes. Here are some of the following tips which are highly effective in preventing the problem.

Obesity is a threat and can be a major contributing factor. It is highly recommended to reduce the body weight and fat must be maintained on its average count. The Body Mass Index (BMI) should be followed regularly.

Increased physical activities will reduce the chances of having diabetes. People with affluent lifestyle are more affected and a brisk walking of 30 minutes per day will help in fighting this problem.

Alcoholic consumption must be less and having more than 2 units per day will cause serious problems.

Cigarette smoking is injurious to health. One could reduce the chances of getting diabetes by quitting smoking and alcohol consumption.

Food items that are rich in fats must not be consumed on a regular basis.

It is advised to consume fish and other poultry items.

The intake of garlic reduces blood pressure cholesterol hence it is healthy to be taken.

3 to 4 eggs per week are adequate and it should be boiled.

Vegetables and fiber rich food items should be consumed on a massive scale and the intake of salt must be reduced to less than 5.8grams everyday.
